Comparison

The best bookmark and link managers

If your bookmarks are a mess, you're not alone. We compare six tools to save links and find them again in seconds.

Browser bookmarks work fine until you have hundreds of them. Then finding that article or that tool turns into a blind search through folders you don't remember creating.

We compared six options, from the simplest to the most complete, using data from their official websites. We're the NexoPad team, which is on the list, but we'll tell you clearly when another one suits you better.

The 6 options, one by one

Chrome bookmarks

Free and already installed. They sync with your Google account and include a Reading List to save pages for later. They fall short once you have a lot of them.

Raindrop.io

Saves unlimited links in visual collections, with tags and highlights, even on the free plan. Pro adds full-text search, permanent copies and reminders.

Toby

Built for people who live with lots of tabs: it saves sets of tabs as collections and reopens them in one click. Free up to 60 saved tabs.

Linkwarden

Open source. It keeps a full copy of every page so you don't lose it even if it disappears, with annotations and automatic tags.

Pinboard

A simple, fast bookmarking service with no ads or distractions. Paid, with an archiving option to search the text of your pages.

NexoPad

Your links with categories and search, in the popup and side panel, next to your notes and quick replies. Imports your Chrome bookmarks in one click.

NexoPad: your work links, one click away

NexoPad isn't just a bookmark manager: it's an extension that brings together your links, notes, shortcut replies and AI. For links, it lets you organize them into categories, pin the ones you use most, find them by typing a few letters and open them from the popup, the side panel or the Ctrl+K search without leaving the page.

You can import your browser bookmarks to get started. The free plan lets you save up to 20 links; Pro, up to 1,000. If you're after a large reading library with thousands of articles, Raindrop.io or Linkwarden will suit you better.

  • If you save articles to read or want a visual library, Raindrop.io.
  • If you pile up open tabs, Toby.
  • If you worry about pages disappearing, Linkwarden or Pinboard's archive.
  • If you want your work links next to your notes and replies, NexoPad. We explain how to tidy them up in our guide to organizing your bookmarks.
