• Shortcuts per website

  With the globe icon in the editor you choose where each shortcut works: on every website, only on some (for example, only in Gmail) or on all except some. The same shortcut can type different text on each site, like a formal /greeting in Gmail and a friendlier one in WhatsApp Web.

• Import your shortcuts from other apps

  Bring what you already have in Text Blaze, TextExpander, Espanso, Zendesk, Intercom and up to 15 apps, or from any CSV, in a minute. You see a preview before importing, variables are converted automatically and no duplicates are created. It's in the web dashboard: My account → Backup → “Import from another app”.

• Time-based greeting, business days and a date picker

  {{greeting}} types “Good morning”, “Good afternoon” or “Good evening” depending on the time. {{date:+3_workdays}} inserts the date 3 business days from now, skipping weekends. {{datepicker:Date}} adds a calendar to the form. With |long, dates read like “Thursday, October 23”. Free on every plan.

Improvements

• A redesigned variables form

  It now shows a live preview of the final text, buttons for short menus and a calendar for dates. It opens next to the field you're typing in without covering the page, so you can read the ticket or copy a detail with the form open. Drag it to move it; it remembers where you left it on each site.

• Recent values and an empty-field warning

  Your last values appear under each field, one click away. If you're about to insert with blanks left, NexoPad warns you and lets you insert anyway. In menus you can pick with keys 1 to 4.

• Works without reloading your tabs

  When you install or update NexoPad, shortcuts now work in the tabs you already had open, without reloading the page. Updating doesn't ask for any new permission.

• More accurate search

  Matches in the shortcut or title come first. Search now ignores accents (“guia” finds “Guías”) and finds notes with several words even when they aren't together.

Fixes

• The Pro trial now works in the extension too

  During the 7-day trial the extension didn't always switch to Pro. Now it does, and if you cancel your subscription you keep Pro until the last paid day.

• No extra space in the first field

  The space that triggers the shortcut sometimes slipped into the first field of the form. Not anymore.

• Search no longer matches hidden words

  Searching for “span” or “strong” matched almost every note because it also looked at their internal formatting. Now it only searches the text you see.

New

• Add templates from the web in one click

  In the nexopad.app template gallery (500 templates in 16 categories and 5 languages), the “Add to NexoPad” button saves the template as a snippet, with its text, its variables and the suggested shortcut. If you already have it, it isn’t duplicated, and if the shortcut is taken it’s saved as /refund2.

• Alt + A opens the AI chat from any website

  Press Alt + A (Option + A on Mac) and the side panel opens right in the chat, with the cursor ready to type. Works in Chrome, Edge and other browsers with a side panel.

• New free AI: Cloudflare Workers AI

  It offers free daily usage, with models such as gpt-oss-120b, Gemma 4 and Llama 4. Connect it by pasting your Cloudflare account ID and token, separated by a colon.

Improvements

• Up-to-date AI models

  The model lists for all 10 AI providers now use each company’s current models, and the first one in each list is always the cheapest. Mistral moves to “Requires credit” because its API is no longer free. If you had a retired model selected, NexoPad switches to the default model instead of showing an error.

• The side panel opens where you left it

  If you used the chat last time, the panel goes back to the chat and your conversation; if you used “Tool”, it goes back to “Tool”. The empty chat also reminds you of the Alt + A shortcut.

• “Resources” menu in the popup

  “Documentation” becomes “Resources”, with Templates, Documentation, What’s new and Blog. Each link opens the website in the extension’s language.

• Variables with the same name in every language

  System variables now have English names: {{first_name}}, {{company}}, {{date}}… Snippets that use the old Spanish names keep working as before.

Fixes

• New OpenAI models no longer fail

  The extension sent them two old settings that those models no longer accept. They’re now sent the way OpenAI expects.

• Claude Sonnet works again

  The model name was misspelled in the list. It has been replaced with Anthropic’s current models.

• The cursor goes to the chat when you return to the panel

  With the AI tab open, returning to the panel sent the cursor to a hidden search box in another tab. Now it goes to the chat box.

New

• Shortcuts that start the same, without clashes

  If one shortcut is the start of another (for example /pr and /proposal), NexoPad no longer inserts the short one while you type the long one: the long one is inserted when you finish typing it, and the short one when you press Space or Tab. Shortcuts without conflicts are still inserted instantly, as always.

• Heads-up in the snippet editor

  If the shortcut you're typing starts the same as another one, a note appears below explaining that the shorter one will be inserted when you press Space or Tab. So you know what will happen before you use it.

• Multi-line templates in any text box

  In plain text boxes (many CRMs, forms and support tools), multi-line templates are inserted with their line breaks, and lists with their bullet (•) or number (1., 2., 3.). Before, all the lines came out joined together.

Improvements

• A heads-up when {{clipboard}} can't read what you copied

  If the browser doesn't allow reading the clipboard or nothing is copied, NexoPad tells you and explains what to do, instead of inserting the template with an empty gap and no explanation.

• Clearer custom AI instruction

  The instruction you type in the AI bar also applies to the other actions, like fixing or making text more formal. A tooltip now explains it, and an "×" button clears it in one click.

• Line breaks lost in plain text boxes

  A signature came out as "Best regards,Laura GómezCustomer support". Now every line is kept, also in the text NexoPad leaves on the clipboard.

• AI edits your text instead of replying to it

  If the selected text contained instructions or questions ("check the accents", "tell me the price"), actions like shortening or softening sometimes replied or made things up. Now they always treat the selection as text to edit.

• The translate button, in your language

  On hover, the translate button's description appeared in Spanish in every language. Now it shows in the extension's language.

• Notes sort buttons work properly

  Editing a note no longer changes its creation date, the modification date is saved separately, the copy counter is kept, and notes with reminders move to the top in "Reminders".

New

• 8 skins to make it yours

  In Settings → Appearance you can choose between Classic (the original), Dark, Terminal (green, inspired by the dev world), Studio (gold and orange), Sakura (pink), Midnight (dark purple), Graphite (minimalist black and white) and My team. The skin applies to the popup, side panel, Notebook, floating notes, reminders and also to Ctrl+K, // and AI on selected text on any website. It's saved to your account, so it follows you on all your devices.

• Automatic day and night mode

  Turn on the "Automatic" switch and NexoPad changes by itself with your system's light or dark mode: during the day it uses the skin you picked and at night it switches to Dark or Midnight (you choose which). It's off by default.

• "My team" skin in your company's colors (Teams)

  If your team has a brand color, an extra skin with the team's name appears and dresses the whole extension in that color: header, buttons, selection and highlights. If the color is very light, it's adjusted so text stays readable, and it updates instantly if an admin changes it.

  Hover over each skin's circle to see it applied instantly; move away and yours comes back.

• Made for working at night

  In Dark and Midnight everything adapts, including the Notebook's HTML mode, and website logos are shown on a light box so black ones don't disappear.

• Classic is still the default look

  If you don't pick a skin, NexoPad looks exactly the way it always has.

New

• Duplicate a whole snippet

  A new button in the Snippets editor creates a full copy (content, variants, and category) ready to edit, without copy-pasting by hand.

• 4 new variables for your snippets

  `{{cursor}}` leaves the cursor at an exact point in the text after inserting, `{{clipboard}}` pastes whatever you have copied, `{{date:DD/MM/YYYY}}` lets you choose the date format, and `{{paragraph:Label}}` is like manual input but with room for several lines. Available in Snippets, Notebook, and the web Dashboard editor.

• Open several links with Ctrl+click

  In the popup's Links view, hold Ctrl and click the cards you want — they turn green and a bar appears to open them all at once in new tabs.

Improvements

• Duplicate a variant in A/B/C snippets

  A button next to "+" clones the active variant's content into a new one, instead of always starting blank — built for variants that are nearly the same text with small changes.

• Pasting a URL over selected text creates a hyperlink

  In Snippets, Notes, and the Notebook, select a word or phrase and paste a copied link — that text becomes the link, just like in Google Docs or Notion.

• Reorganized Notebook toolbar

  All buttons are now aligned in height, and can be dragged and reordered freely between the main bar and "More tools".

• Notebook Variables and A/B Variants are no longer hidden

  They used to live behind an extra menu; now they're fixed, always-visible buttons in the editor's toolbar, just like in the popup.

• A single "Create" button in the Notebook, with Snippet as a new option

  There used to be two fixed buttons ("Note" and "Link") taking up header space; now it's one dropdown menu that adds "Snippet" as a third option.

• Ctrl+C to copy in the Notebook

  With a note, snippet, or link open in the editor, Ctrl+C copies the full content without hunting for a button.

• Quick links in "My Dashboard" and "Company Panel"

  Both now expand as an accordion with direct links to specific sections, instead of a single click to the generic dashboard.

• Empty the trash without leaving the popup

  From the Settings menu you can empty it instantly, with the same two-click confirmation as "Log out".

• Side panel now closer to feature parity with the popup

  Notes and Links now have their own create button, the Category and Tag dropdowns use a floating panel instead of native menus, and the "All" tab adds a counter, sorting, and a tag filter.

• Ctrl+K and `//` with better search and the popup's design

  They now tolerate typos while searching, and result cards use the same colors and animations as the popup and side panel.

Fixes

• The note preview in Ctrl+K and `//` showed undecoded symbols

  ` ` and other HTML entities showed up instead of a normal space.

• The shortcut on `//` cards always displayed in uppercase

  It now respects how you actually typed it, just like the popup.

• "Note" in the Notebook's "+ Create" menu was nearly unreadable on hover

  It showed solid blue background with black text; it now behaves like "Link" and "Snippet".

• In the Links view, Enter or Ctrl+C could act on the wrong card

  If your mouse sat still over a card while you typed in the search box, those keys used the old card instead of the one actually highlighted on screen.

New

• Custom order in the side panel

  Notes, Links and Snippets in the side panel now have the same sort selector the popup already had (Most used, Last used, A→Z, Most copied, etc.), and share the same preference — the order you pick on one side is reflected on the other.

• Choose how long to snooze a reminder

  The Snooze button on reminders now opens a small menu with 15 minutes, 1 hour, or tomorrow, instead of always snoozing for 15 minutes with no option. Works the same in the in-page toast and in the reminder window.

• Redesigned // and Ctrl+K cards

  The `//` and Ctrl+K quick search now show the same cards as the popup: a color accent bar per type (amber for snippets, green for links, blue for notes), content preview, and real favicons on links.

• Up to 3 keyboard shortcuts for your AI actions

  Previously you could only assign one keyboard shortcut to an AI action; now you can set up several, each with its own combo (it warns you if one's already in use). Free keeps 1 shortcut; Pro and Teams can set up to 3.

• Random variants no longer repeat the last one used

  "Random" A/B/C variant mode now avoids picking the same variant twice in a row, and works the same across all 4 ways to insert a snippet (direct shortcut, popup, `//`, and Ctrl+K) — before, `//` and Ctrl+K always inserted Variant A regardless of the configured mode.

• Variant badge in // and Ctrl+K

  Snippets with A/B/C variants now show a small indicator in these search results, so it's no surprise when what gets inserted doesn't exactly match the preview.

• More visible AI Settings menus

  "Persona / System Prompt", "Providers" and "Options" had very low contrast. They now have bolder text and highlight in blue when open.

• "Random Choice" block in the Macro Builder

  Now built with a form inside the Notebook, instead of writing `{{random:...}}` by hand.

• Updated AI models

  Gemini, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, xAI, Together AI and Cohere had default models their own providers had already retired. We updated all of them to current versions — if you already had one connected, it updates itself next time you use AI.

Fixes

• Signing out now also clears custom selectors and macros

  They used to stay saved in the browser after signing out — if someone else signed in with a different account on the same browser, they'd inherit that data. Now it's cleared along with the rest of the account.

• A/B/C variants could revert in the popup

  If you created or deleted several variants in a row and closed the popup right away, only the first change was saved — the rest reverted to the previous state on reopen.

• Copying a note lost its formatting

  The copy button on notes (and Ctrl+C) pasted everything as plain text even if it had bold, italics, or lists. Fixed in the popup, side panel, Ctrl+K, and the floating post-it.

• Reminder preview showed undecoded symbols

  It showed ` ` and other codes instead of normal spaces, like garbled text. Now decoded correctly before showing it.

New

• Keyboard shortcut for your favorite AI action

  In the AI panel (Options section) you can now pick an inline toolbar action (Fix, Formal, Soften, Shorten, Summarize, Draft, or Translate) and assign it your own key combination. With text selected in any editable field on the web, pressing that combination applies the action directly, no need to click the icon or the button.

Improvements

• Google login now works in Firefox

  It used to be hidden because Google's consent window stole focus from the popup, and Firefox closed it mid-flow. The login now runs in the background (it survives even if the popup closes), and Google's window opens at a normal size instead of taking over the whole screen.

• Heads-up when saving a link you already have

  Until now you could save the same URL multiple times with no warning. When creating a new link from the popup, if that URL is already saved in the same space (personal/team), a notice shows the existing link's name with the option to save a copy anyway if you really want one.

New

• // and Ctrl+K search revamped

  We took the reminder toast's style (gradient accent bar, icon badge, Inter font) so both search boxes look more polished and consistent with the rest of the extension.

• // now opens upward when there's no room below

  Before, if you typed near the bottom of the screen, the box could end up partially hidden. Now it calculates the real available space and, if needed, opens upward with the search field right above your cursor.

• Snippets folders redesigned

  Folders in the popup's Categories view now get the same card treatment as the rest of the extension (white background, subtle shadow, color stripe, hover lift) instead of a flat list. The "back to categories" row was also redesigned as a lightweight breadcrumb.

• Better-ranked // and Ctrl+K results

  An exact shortcut match could show up below one that merely starts the same way — searching "xc" could show "xclonar" above a shortcut literally named "xc". Both search boxes now prioritize exact shortcut > shortcut starts with > shortcut contains > title, the same criteria already used by Notes, Links, Snippets and the Notebook.

• Image compression in the popup's Notes and Snippets

  The Notebook already resized and compressed pasted images; Notes and Snippets in the popup now do the same (max 1600px, WebP) — a typical screenshot ends up 90-95% lighter with no visible quality loss.

• Custom category color/icon now shows up in Snippets too

  If you customize a category's color or icon from the Notebook (right-click / double-click), it now shows up in the popup's Snippets folders too, instead of falling back to the automatic color.

Fixes

• Typing past the limit in a formatted note could wipe out everything at once

  When you hit your plan's character limit, the editor used to replace the entire content with a plain-text version to trim the excess — discarding any bold text, tables, or images pasted anywhere in the note. Typing past the limit is now blocked before it happens, so formatting and images stay intact.

• The popup's Settings menu showed your email instead of your name

  The Notebook already showed your Google account name; the popup's Settings menu always showed the full email instead. Both now use the same logic.

• Ctrl+K closed itself when clicking inside its own search box

  Due to how the browser reports clicks inside the component, any click inside the search box was being reported the same as a click outside, and vice versa. It now closes only when it should.

• Microsoft Edge's "leave a review" link went to the wrong place

  It was a leftover placeholder from before we had the real listing ID on Edge Add-ons. It now points straight to NexoPad's listing.

New

• Note editor redesign

  Note editing in the popup has a new look: content editor in a floating card, category/vault/tags/shortcut as icon-and-color chips always visible (no more digging into "Advanced Properties"), and the Save bar now floats over the note instead of permanently covering it.

• Character counter

  Shows up near the bottom corner of the editor only as you approach your plan's limit (last 500 characters) — turning amber, then red — instead of surprising you out of nowhere with a limit-reached warning.

• Find & replace inside a note, in the Notebook

  Ctrl+F highlights every match in the open note and lets you jump between them with a counter ("3/12"); a small arrow expands a replace field to change text across the whole note at once. Ctrl+H opens the same finder already in replace mode.

Improvements

• The AI icon's tooltip didn't warn that left- and right-click do different things

  Inside an editable field, left-click opens a quick-actions bar and right-click opens the full panel — but the tooltip always said the same thing, and outside an editable field both clicks do the same thing anyway. The tooltip now adapts to the actual context of the selection.

Fixes

• Opening a note from the popup in the Notebook didn't highlight it in the list

  The Notebook's note list loads 50 at a time (infinite scroll), so if the opened note was beyond the first batch, its card didn't exist yet and there was nothing to highlight. A real bug was also found along the way: each card's pin button was wired up without checking it existed, which in some cases broke the rest of the list from loading. The note now always gets highlighted and centered in view.

• The Notebook "saved" every time you clicked between notes, even with no changes

  Every click on a note card triggered a safety-net save meant to avoid losing pending edits from the previous note — but it fired every time, even with nothing to save. That safety save now only runs when there's genuinely something unsaved.

• Lists pasted from another site lost their indentation

  Copying a list from a page or an AI chat brings along the source's own styles, which overrode the editor's spacing and left the list flush against the edge. The editor now always keeps its own spacing regardless of where pasted content comes from.

• The category could show a stale value when opening or creating a note

  The visible category label only updated when picking one from the menu — opening a new note right after editing one with a different category could leave the old text showing. It now always syncs with the note's real value.

• Reminders revealed a note's content even while the vault was PIN-locked

  The PIN exists precisely so no one else can see your notes, but the reminder alert still showed the title and preview regardless of lock state. Now, if the vault is still locked, the alert is generic and reveals nothing.

• Outdated Groq models

  The default model was flagged by Groq as deprecated, and two others were found to have already been retired from production without us noticing. Replaced with Groq's current lineup.

New

• Reminder alerts with NexoPad's own design

  Reminders no longer use the operating system's generic notification — they now match the popup's own visual identity (colors, typography, and buttons), don't steal focus from what you were doing, and open the note directly with one click.

Improvements

• "Set up AI" suggestion in Settings

  If you don't have any AI provider connected, the popup's Settings menu now suggests it somewhere you actually visit — many users never discovered the side panel's AI feature on their own.

• Smart translation now detects the text's language more reliably

  The translation button on selected text now recognizes more accurately when the text is already in your language, even without accents or distinctive characters, and recalculates the target on every selection instead of sticking to a previous choice.

• Text selection and AI now work inside plain text boxes

  The AI button on text selection now also appears inside plain text fields (for example, forums like XenForo), not just rich-text editors, and positions itself precisely next to the cursor.

• More robust reminders after your PC was off or the browser was closed

  On browser startup, every saved reminder is checked to make sure its alarm is still active and recreated if missing. If several reminders come due at once (typical after being off for a few days), they're grouped into a single alert instead of a burst of separate notifications.

Fixes

• Editing a link or opening a snippet from the side panel now selects the right item

  The "Edit" button for a link, or opening a snippet, from the side panel opened the popup but didn't always highlight or scroll to the requested item. Fixed across all three scenarios that caused it, including long lazy-loaded lists.

• "Complete" on a reminder no longer moves the note to trash

  Previously, completing a one-time reminder archived the note to trash in addition to disabling the reminder — an unwanted side effect. "Complete" now only disables the reminder and leaves the note untouched.

• Trashed notes no longer keep ringing their reminder

  Moving a note with an active reminder to trash didn't clear its alarm, so the alert could still fire for a note you'd already "deleted". It's now cleared automatically when archiving, with an extra safety check as backup.

• Context-menu AI actions now open the right tab

  Sending selected text to "Translate", "Fix", etc. from the context menu opened the side panel, but it could stay on a different tab without processing the text. It now jumps to the AI tab automatically.

• Custom-styled notices instead of native browser alerts

  The "click the text field before inserting" and "20-link limit reached" notices showed the browser's generic dialog box (e.g. "intercom.com says..."). They now use a notification styled to match NexoPad.

Fixes

• Keyboard shortcuts no longer open a second popup window

  Using the "Open My Notes" or "Open Snippets" shortcuts while the popup was already visible opened a second window on top of the first one. The popup now detects that it's already open and simply switches view instead of creating a new window.

• Text injection restored on Intercom (and Shadow DOM sites)

  Intercom moved its conversation composer to a component with an open Shadow DOM, which silently broke shortcut detection, deleting the shortcut text before inserting, the AI button on text selection, the quick picker ("//"), the command palette (Ctrl+K), and interactive macros. All of these work correctly again there and on any site with a similar architecture.

• Custom variables (full name and similar) on Shadow DOM sites

  The selector capture tool (click to "remember" a page field) and automatic variable extraction couldn't read data inside Shadow DOM components. This also retroactively fixes the full-name variable on Intercom, which had silently stopped working.

• More reliable manual insertion from the popup

  Using a snippet's "Insert" button while the target text field was already focused sometimes incorrectly showed a "click the text field" warning and required a second attempt. It now prioritizes the browser's real, current focus instead of a saved value that could be stale.

• Multi-paragraph snippets no longer lose their first block on Intercom

  Inserting a multi-line snippet via shortcut (not the manual button) made the first paragraph disappear, inserting only the rest. Caused by Intercom's editor processing the paste before finishing registering the shortcut deletion. A small delay between both steps now prevents this.

• Unexpected sign-out roughly every hour

  Opening the popup fired several cloud requests in parallel. If the session token was about to expire right then, each one tried to refresh it independently — but Supabase invalidates the refresh token as soon as it's used once, so only the first request succeeded and the rest, failing, cleared the entire session even though a valid one already existed. All concurrent requests now share the same in-flight refresh instead of competing with each other.

• Sort links, notes & snippets

  Each popup view has its own sort selector with 8 options: frequent, last used, most copied, recent, oldest, A→Z, Z→A and never used. Your choice is saved and restored every time you open the popup.

• Last used in real time

  Injecting a snippet or opening a link updates the usage counter and last-used date instantly in the popup, even if the popup was closed at the time.

• Remember email & password

  The popup automatically saves your email between sessions. Enable the new 'Remember password' checkbox to avoid opening your password manager every time you log in.

Improvements

• New option: Most copied

  The snippet, link or note you have copied or injected the most times rises to the top of the list — perfect for reaching your most-used resources at a glance.

Fixes

• Logout shows login directly

  When signing out from the popup, the login screen now appears immediately without closing or reloading the popup.

• Ctrl+C broken after changing sort

  Selecting a different sort order moved focus away from the search box, breaking Ctrl+C. Focus is now restored automatically after every sort change.

• Vault and side panel texts localized

  The locked vault and sign-in required screens in the side panel were hardcoded in Spanish. They now appear in all 5 extension languages.

• Two-factor authentication in the extension

  If you have 2FA enabled on your account, the extension automatically detects your TOTP factor and shows a secure screen to enter your code before granting access.

• Ctrl+C to copy snippets and notes

  Hover over any snippet or note and press Ctrl+C to copy its content to the clipboard. The card flashes amber (snippets) or blue (notes) as visual confirmation.

• Delete note from the editor

  When editing an existing note, a trash icon appears in the editor header so you can delete it directly without going back to the list.

Improvements

• Floating device limit banner

  When you reach the maximum number of allowed extensions, a slide-up notification appears at the bottom of the popup with a direct link to the Security section to manage your sessions.

• Direct access to the Trash

  The Trash button in the extension's mini-panel now opens the dashboard directly in the Trash section, without manual navigation.

  Bullet points and numbered lists in the note and snippet editor now appear correctly indented instead of flush against the left edge.
