Keyboard shortcuts and quick launchers

The fastest way to turn NexoPad into a daily tool is to learn its shortcuts.

The extension includes browser-level shortcuts and other launchers that work by typing inside the page. If one conflicts with your system or another extension, you can change it from the browser shortcuts settings.

On macOS, where you see Ctrl, you will normally use Cmd in the equivalent commands defined by the extension.

Built-in shortcuts

Other launchers worth knowing

  • Type sys in the browser omnibox to search links and launch dynamic URLs.
  • Type // inside an editable field to open the floating snippet picker on top of the current page.
  • Use Ctrl+K or Cmd+K inside the page to open the NexoPad omnibar and search snippets, notes, and links.
  • Inside the popup, hover any snippet or note card and press Ctrl+C to copy its content to the clipboard instantly — the card flashes as visual confirmation.
  • If a shortcut gets in your way, change the combination in chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

Selection, clips, and AI inside the page

The Alt+C shortcut still matters even though it doesn't show up in the browser's command list: on compatible pages, it saves the selected text as a clip and sends it to the ✂️ Clips category.

That flow doesn't replace Alt+S. One captures selected text, the other opens the quick notes popup.

If you have the AI bubble on text selection enabled, the floating NexoPad AI button can also appear when you highlight a fragment inside the page.

Important:If you already use Alt+C for another tool, review it early: on some pages NexoPad can also use that combination to capture selected text as a clip.
