How to set reminders in Chrome
Chrome has no reminders feature, but you can get them with tools you already use or with an extension. Here are three ways.
If you spend the day in your browser, it would make sense for it to remind you about the 11 o'clock meeting or calling a client. But Chrome doesn't include reminders of its own, and alerts created in other apps sometimes get lost among notifications.
Here are three ways to get reminders while you work in Chrome, with their pros and limits, so you can pick the one that suits you best.
1. Google Tasks: tasks with a date and time
Google Tasks is Google's to-do tool. You'll find it in the side panel of Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive and Docs, as well as in its phone app. Create a task, give it a date and time, and it alerts you when the moment comes.
Since 2026, Google Keep reminders are also managed in Google Tasks, so it's the natural choice if you already use Google's tools. Its limit: tasks are short texts, not notes with content.
2. Google Calendar: for appointments and meetings
For anything with a specific time, like a meeting or a call, Google Calendar is still the best option. Create an event, add a notification a few minutes before and you'll get the alert in your browser and on your phone.
For smaller work reminders ("review the proposal", "call Lucy"), a calendar can get too crowded.
3. An extension with reminders on your notes
With NexoPad, any note can have a reminder. Open the note, click the bell, choose a day and time, and you can make it repeat daily, weekly or monthly, or mark it as high priority.
When the time comes, the alert appears inside the page you're working on, with the note's title and content and buttons to snooze or complete it. So you don't have to go looking for it in another app.
