10 AI prompts for customer support
Ready-to-copy instructions that save time in everyday support, and how to save them so you can use them in one click.
AI can be a big help for support teams, but results depend heavily on how you ask. A vague instruction gives vague answers; a specific instruction gives you something you can use.
Here are ten proven prompts for everyday support, tips for writing your own and a way to save them so you don't have to type them every time.
How to write a good support prompt
- Say exactly what you want: summarize, classify, reply, translate.
- Specify the format: "in one sentence", "in three bullet points", "under 80 words".
- Set the tone: friendly, professional, warm.
- Give it the key fact the AI can't know: the solution, the timeline, the return policy.
- Ask it not to make things up: "if information is missing, say so instead of guessing".

6. Summarize a long thread

"Which category does this ticket belong to: billing, access, shipping, bug or question? Reply with the category only."
8. Translate keeping the tone
"Translate this reply into [language], keeping a warm, professional tone."

Your prompts, one click away, in any tool
Copying and pasting prompts between tabs kills the time savings. With NexoPad you select the customer's message in your help desk, click the lightning icon and type your instruction in the same box. The answer appears right there, ready to copy.
In the side panel you can also save your favorite prompts. They show up as buttons below the text: paste the customer's message, click "Detect urgency" and you get the result instantly.
What AI shouldn't do alone
- Promise timelines, refunds or compensation that haven't been approved.
- Send replies without a person reviewing them.
- Receive sensitive data such as passwords, bank or health details.
- Reply to very angry customers without a personal touch: that's where a person makes the difference.
Frequently asked questions
Can AI replace the support team?
No. It helps summarize, classify and draft faster, but decisions and the personal touch still belong to people.
What's better, prompts or templates?
They complement each other. For replies that are always the same, a support template is faster and more reliable; for one-off cases, AI.
Does it work in my help desk?
Yes, if you use it in the browser: Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk, your CRM or email.
Can I share prompts with my team?
Saved prompts in the side panel are personal. To share replies with your team, NexoPad Teams has a shared snippet vault.
